 Audition Information for SPACE 2025

General Production Information

Kinetic Tapestry is looking for dynamic circus and theatre performers for its upcoming performances of an original, full-length theatrical circus performance. This show explores the breathtaking beauty and adventure of outer space using a blend of Circus Arts, Theater, and live music. 

 

This is a paid position. The cast will feature around 17-25 youth and adults with skills in circus, gymnastics, dance and movement disciplines. We are looking for mimes/clowns, dancers, acrobats, gymnasts, jugglers, fire performers, aerialists, hula hoopers and other specialty circus performers to be a part of this full-length theatrical circus show.

 

PERFORMANCES: at Florissant Performing Arts Center (1 James J. Eagan Dr, Florissant, MO 63033)

·  September 6,12,13 2025 at 7pm

·  September 7, 2025 at 2pm
   September 14, 2025  at 1pm

Note: This production will include the use of theatrical smoke and/or haze. 

 

REHEARSALS

• Performers (dance & circus) will initially rehearse at Kinetic Tapestry’s Circus Studio in Maryland Heights. Rehearsals will likely be scheduled on Thursday or Friday evenings; Tues, Thurs. or Fri mornings and occasional Saturdays starting May 10 through Sept 1, 2025 (Specific days and times based on casting, skills, and needs of the production).

• Each act should expect between 3-5 act-specific rehearsals, plus all Full Cast and Tech week rehearsals

• All performers will rehearse at Florissant Performing Arts Center

  • Thurs., Sept 4; 5:30-9:30pm

  • Fri, Sept 5; 5:30-9:30pm

  • Sat, Sept 6; 3pm preview

 

 

You must be available for all tech week rehearsals and performances in order to be cast into this production.

Saturday, March 29, 2025 - INITIAL AUDITIONS

* Returning Cast Members proceed directly to Call Backs

• 1:30-2:30pm  - Dance Group Audition (1pm Registration Opens) 

  • Please wear dance attire and bring ballet shoes. Be prepared to learn and execute a modern dance and a lyrical combination.

• 2:30-3:30pm - Tumbling & Sport Acro Group Audition

  • Tumblers  - Able to do these skills: back handspring, front handspring, back tuck, aerial

  • Sport Acro Duo Act - Especially looking for a hand to hand duo. 

  • Sport acrobats  - USA Gymnastics Level 7 & Up

• 3:30-5pm - Specialty Acts Individual Audition slots by appointment. 

  • Present a 2 minute routine showing your highest level of proficiency. (Studio has 15’ height) Contact us for space or equipment needs.

  • Requirements: 
    Kinetic Tapestry Curriculum: Teen/Adult Level 3 or higher on the apparatus you are auditioning. 

  • Especially looking for: Duo Trapeze Act, Straps Duo Act, Jugglers
